Philosophical Counseling
Problem solving for life.
Philosophical counseling aims to guide clients through rational inquiry and reflection to address common problems experiences throughout life. These can include questions about major life events, relationship problems, career issues, passion pursuit, theological dilemmas, and moral and ethical conundrums. While I do not diagnose or treat mental illness, most of the problems we encounter throughout life aren’t mental illnesses at all, and inappropriately diagnosing them as such can often be unhelpful. My goal is to help clients identify what and how they think, and improve their lives through exploration and collaboration.
"I know the outcome of decisions is never a given, but when I am having a crisis of confidence as to whether I made a good decision from a ethical or moral standpoint, having Tomy as a resource has proven instrumental for me." — Matt F.
